Two recaps on one page: Carryover, how often a digit repeats(appears again) from the previous draw, per position & in aggregate, and CT (Control Numbers), the 5 to 7 most frequent digits plus their honest hit-rate versus a random guess. All from real paito, not a guaranteed win.
Example, Hongkong: carryover rate 78% (random baseline 82%), 6-digit CT = 9 8 4 0 7 3 with a 4-digit hit of 15.6% (baseline 13.0%).
Data for Hongkong: 365 draws (up to the last 1 year).
How often a digit from the previous draw repeats (appears again) in the next draw, per position & in aggregate.
repeat, same position · repeat, different position
The set of digits that historically close out results most often. We show the honest hit-rate and compare it against a random guess.
CT = 9 · 8 · 4 · 0 · 7 · 3. The remaining digits (1 2 5 6) are the "weak" candidates by historical frequency.
The CT hit-rate above is computed in-sample (the CT is drawn from the same data it is tested on), so the raw number tends to be MORE optimistic than reality. Notice: 15.6% is only slightly above the random baseline of 13.0%. That means "control numbers" barely beat guessing 6 digits at random. CT is useful for filtering the pool, not a guarantee of a win.
Carryover & CT are purely a recap of data that already happened. 4D results are random & independent each draw, so a digit that repeats often does not become more likely to repeat, and CT barely beats a random guess (see the baseline). Use it to filter the pool with a cool head, not as a certainty. Educational statistical-literacy content.
